these are my first pair of dry denim that i actually cared about. Worn 5-6 days a week for the past 5 months. I work in an office so they dont get the abuse they deserve.

The only time they ever got wet was a month ago when i jumped into my salt water pool and wore them till they dried.

Let them air out a week inside out in the sun before proceeding for the next 5 month journey ..

yep

thnks for the comments guys. And its actually only been 4 months of wear.

What would leaving them in the sun for 5 days do to the denim? Just curious what happens to the denim.

i don't knwo if they have a wide variety of sizes at the levis stores or online...seems to be only 30x32. "what goes around comes around" on w.broadway had a lot last time i was there. if you don't live in nyc you could probably call them and phone order. they had most sizes and multiple pairs in each size

where did you get these? or do you know where to get some + some more info about fit?

i found these 501s that were my dad's in a yardsale we were having. I immediately put them back in the house. i don't know how old they are and neither does he. I do know that they are 5+ years old. he knows nothing about denim so there was no intensions in the jeans getting like this. he just wore em to work out in the yard or whatever. I think they're kind of nice though. I wish there were honeycombs though. should i starch em up and see if i can get anything else out of em, or should i just leave em how they are?

Well I am in Chicago, I guess i am going to check out the levis store here, any distinguishing marks to know they are the correct jeans?

will they say LVC 47?

I have never seen lvcs give away like that. Especially after 5 months of wear. Anyways thems is looking good. I just recently re-fell in love with my lvc 47s. I shrunk them down to size and they fit great now.

man you must sit hard

but you should fix those. you will get unatural wear and that hole will get lots worse and kill your jeans before their time.

and its not like they used actual vintage thread.

they are reproductions.

im pretty sure if someone got a hole like that in the fall of 1947 they would have resewn the seam already.

I would repair well for something like this. I do not think there is much point in purposely sloppilly repairing something. I have, but that is because I can not sew. If I were to take them to the tailor's, I would not say make it look like shit.

hahaha, i found that funny

anyways, to m--20, you slouch a lot, dont you

leave 'em like that dude, they rock pretty hard as they are right now. do they fit you?

the original post gets props from me too, sorry to hear about the butt seam rippage though....otherwise i think they were coming along quite nicely.

edit: just saw the repairs, lookin great my friend. I agree with the above post that said the repairs add some character and story to the jeans...i wanna have a pair of 'story jeans' like that, but nothing i do in my jeans will lead me to wear holes in them :(
