CMF- as you can see from my membership date vs post ratio, i'm a serious lurker. but yeah this reply made me finally ask this. If you're not willing to spend much, how do you stay interested in or up to date with products in this forum? most of the stuff posted go for at least twice the price you mentioned?

btw teach me how to find $0 flip flops pls

I aspire to this man's sensibility. Funny thing is he probably finds stuff that is just as nice at his prices. THRIFT STORES RULE. I just grabbed 4 authentic polos in great summer colors for $8.00 plus tax and I feel like I got over like a cheapmotherfucker. If I was in my early twenties again I would stop buying 100 dollars tshirts and start a retirement fund.

i take ideas from this forum and buy things at thrift stores to match a look i like. i alter them with a sewing machine. i look at discount stores and on sale racks for things. i dont have the money to afford all the shit that is talked about here, but i can take elements and work them into my style. i also think alot of vintage stuff is made better. id rather wear a pinguin or le tigre or lacoste polo from the 70s than one from today. same with levis. i have a hremes button up that i paid 3$ for. you just have to look.

some examples:

166055.jpg

hermes shirt 3$, rrl selvage jeans 15$

173752.jpg

shirt 2$, 70s wranglers 4$

174493.jpg

vintage dior shirt 3$, redlines(traded some TS pants) 10$

182077.jpg

vintage le tigre 4$, rrl(altered to fit)25$

as far as 0$ flip flops, thats because i dont wear them. i just dont like them. and i have ugly toes.

The thing about thrift stores is you can't approach it like a department store where you go straight to what you like. You have to go through hundreds of pieces of crap to get to that gem. It takes time and patience. My last find took a good hour and a half looking through a rack of shirts that was at least 50 yards long running from one end of the store to the other. I looked quickly at every shirt there before I found the 4 I wanted and those were placed in the wrong size section. Thrift stores are usually hot, stink and are riddled with misbehaving children playing with broken toys so they are definately challenging, but worth it.

one) you're not rich if 2300 dollars is a significant shopping spree BUZZ SORRY

two) where did you get 500 dollar DH jeans that a couple days ago you didn't know what they were or if they were your style?

i already had 2 pairs. i was simply asking if my body type fit the aesthetic and if i should get mor DH stuff. if people said it probably didnt work, i would invest in something else. you wanna see a picture of them, i got plenty.

my advice: cut $200 from your jeans budget, $100 from polos, $550 from tees, $300 from shoes, all $140 from shorts, $200 from belts and take that extra $1490 and add it to your suit budget... jesus.

this is the only thing i didn't get on your list. why spend more money on tees than dress/polo shirts. is it cause they're cheaper in thrift stores and you buy tees in normal stores? ( i have basically no thrift store experience)
