Are there people using febreeze to get rid of the stinky-smell on their dry-denim jeans? Wouldn't the febreeze damage the denim?

The consensus on this board is to spray them and hang them outside to air. Personally I skip the Febreeze part and just hang them outside regularly.

it makes my jeans smell of febreze. i don't think it damages your jeans...my APCs aren't falling apart yet because of the spray. i use the orange one--anti-microbial? can't simply air and wear, because i'm in the tropics and we all know how much perspiration is generated at those latitudes.

Yes, febreeze has that strange feminin smell, but when you hang them outside the smell will dissappear right?

actually i've found that it takes a few days for the smell to completely dissipate. there's a bit of a musky scent that hangs around the jeans. strange sort of smell.

a long time ago, i had to convert an old animal shelter into a music studio. the animal shelter had about 20 different dogs and cats living together in the apartment. there was piss, shit and skeet everywhere. you couldn't even breathe without feeling like throwing up.

anyways, i used this bacterial enzyme cleaner which eats up all the stinky organic matter. it got rid of all the smell in the house.

it is supposed to be ok to use on fabric, but i didn't try it on any. and i definitely didn't try it on jeans. so, if you're jeans really stink (and you refuse to wash) you might want to try it out.

febreeze works ok. it never seems to really be able to get the smell out of my jeans, just kind of makes them less smelly for a week or so. the smell always comes back though luckily it's not really noticable except when close.

agreed. hanging outside is the best. but the anti-microbal febreeze makes me feel better that it kills the germs living in my dry denim. probably doesnt, but hey it makes me feel better.

I think Oust is meant to be better than Febreeze.

I thought that oust wasn't made for textile, but for getting tobacco smell out of your house....

theoretically, they both kill bacteria that create smells.

theoretically Oust should work?
