Denim Help!

Hello everyone. I am new to the forum and I hope that I have posted this in the correct place. It seems that some of you a very knowledgable about the subjet of denim so I thought you could help me out.

Unfortunately every pair of jeans that I buy must be hemed up for length and simply hate how altered jeans look. How can I replicate the factory hem with it's worn look & gathered material? I have read several threads about distressing denim but I can't seem to find out how to get that gathered look that the original hem has. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

I think you need to use the word "reattach" instead of "hem" when you ask. that way the original frayed or distressed hem is sewn upwards with ecxess material and it looks like your pants were never hemmed. its called reattaching. I'm not sure who would do it, but i know that most high-end denim shops that sell girls jeans like seven and citizens of humanity should know something about it. Call one of those shops and ask about it. hope that helps.
