if you're an american without czech ancestry, I am curious as to why you would root against your country. Today at school i noticed people going against the US who have no knowledge of the cup or any reasoning other than wanting to be "counter-culture" or something. I'm sure you dont fit this category, but i am curious as to your motivation for rooting for the Czech's.

I'm not rooting for anybody to win the World Cup...I just don't like the US soccer team because I have knowledge of the game and I enjoy watching quality European teams. Not only do I like the Czech's style of play, I like Portugal, Holland, Italy, France, etc. I only watch European soccer (EPL, and so on) and am a fan of many European players. When that particular player is playing I root for his team, for instance when France plays tomorrow I am rooting for them becuase of Tierry Henry, my favorite player. But, overall I am not a fan of American soccer.
