thoughts on patching project jeans?

are there methods that anyone on here prefers for patching their denim projects?

I have a pair of new standards at seven months that are looking really great EXCEPT that they are starting to develop and hole in the croch/seat area along one of the more pronounced creases that has developed. It's not a problem yet, but it seems like it will be soon...

how do you go about patching? I would like to keep wearing frequently as the fading that has happened in the past month or so is looking pretty good. Any creative methods? Do-it-yourself or tailor?

is it because of how people walk or something,causes these holes on the crotch area? does it affect mostly people with wider legs?

when the jeans are really tight in the crotch they rub up against each other a lot causing a lot more wear than the other places. they receive the most wear of any part of the jeans, besides if you drag your leg opening.
