Sorry for the long post but I recentely had a run in with a shady individual around my work here in California and I think you'd be interested in hearing the story.

It started about a month ago, sometime around the begining of January. At night, around 4am or so, I started getting calls from a restricted number. It continued for about a week but I always just ignored the calls and started putting my phone on silent. It kept happening though so eventually I started answering the calls to see who this person was but everytime I answer the phone, the person on the other end would just hang up. The calls were starting to freak me out because occasionally the other caller wouldn't hang up and would just sit silentely on the other end.

The calls eventually stopped, however, to my surprise, but a few days after the last call I started to notice something strange when I was in studio late at night. My desk is situated near the window and when I got tired of staring at my computer I would look outside a little to rest my eyes. The thing was, outside the window about 100 yards away, stood a man just a little bit too far away to tell who it was, facing the window. I thought nothing of it at first since lots of people use the building at night and it's natural for people to stand and smoke outside. The thing that tipped me off, however, was when the calls started again. I answered the phone and I noticed the man outside was standing in a position that suggested he was using a phone. But as always, the other end was silent and the man outside continued to stand there.

As you may guess, I was getting weirded out about the whole situation but the thing that caused me to take action was one particularly late night when I was in the studio alone. I noticed the man outside again but just continued to ignore him. Eventually, I got up to use the restroom and when I came back, everyone on my desk was just slightly out of place. Just barely noticable. My olfa blade was on the other side of the desk, my pencils were laying at a different angle, my computer was half closed. Needless to say I was weirded out. After my initial confusion, I looked outside and sure enough, the guy was still standing there. At this point I had to figure out what was happening.

The next night, it was the same situation as always. The man stood outside, out of veiw, while I did my work. I thought a good idea would be to just run out the building after the guy, surely I had a chance at catching him. So I pretended like I was going to the bathroom but quickly ducked out a side door and ran to where the man was standing. To my surprise, there was no one there. Just an empty courtyard. Puzzled, I returned to my desk, thinking that maybe I scared him off and he'd leave me alone now. Unfortunately this wasn't the case. As soon as sat back down at my desk, I glanced outside and the guy was still standing there. Things were getting serious at this point. I had to put an end to this.

I decided tricking this guy would be my best bet, clearly this guy was an intellegent individual. So I talked to my friend who looks vaguely like me from a distant and he agreed to help me in my struggle. The plan was to stage a bathroom run and have my friend change places with me so I could try and sneak up on the guy. So I worked for a little bit then left the room, changed into running clothes and had my friend take my place. This time I snuck out the back door and around the side. I managed to trick him this time around! He was standing there like he always was. I took a deep breath and sprinted toward the man.

He stood there motionless until I was about 50 yards away. At this point he noticed me coming and quickly turned and fled. I sprinted after him as fast as I could. The man was clearly in great physical condition. I managed to keep up but wasn't gaining that much ground. We jumped over fences and throught brushes. The man was running towards the direction of Sunset Boulevard, taking any means necessary to get there.

Eventually we vaulted over a bush and opened up to the side walk of Sunset. The man sprinted across the street towards a black van parked on the opposite side. Another guy already in the car opened the side door and helped the guy I was chasing inside. They quickly closed the door and sped off north, into the tangeld streets of Bel-Air. I whistled for a cab and when it came near the license plate said "fresh" and had dice in the mirror. If anything I could say that this cab was rare but I thought man forget it yo homes to Bel-Air!
