No posts questioning the ads on the site?

It seems as if a thread I made "disappeared" commenting on the new H&M ad, that makes viewing the site considerably less enjoyable for me.

Is this something SF is not interested in, how members respond to things? The ad, literally makes the letters as I type this post not come up after I hit them, there is a delay.

Assuming the post was deleted, the obvious answer is "well we can not bite the hand that feeds us." But I am sure H&M wants to advertise here as they think it will be effective in generating revenue, but if it is pissing people off, do you think that H&M would still want to run it?

Just some thoughts, ohh, too, if a thread has been deleted (I do not know how many are, so I am not sure about the feasability), is it possible to PM the starter to tell them why?

Thank you

PS. This is not a "I hate the mods, etc..." post, just this event brought about some ideas I think beneficial to look into.

2 issues here...

1. technical/

based on the comments in that first thread - the ad is possibly causing some users to not be able to view supertalk properly...if you are having problems with the functioning of supertalk then please post some specific info here about your /computer/browser/operating system so we can then pass the information back to the advertisers media agency. i'm sure they would value this feedback too.

its working fine on our computers...

2. content/

like any internet advertising - you can choose not to click on it... but we're not about to lose an advertiser that is indirectly going to help fund the reconstruction of this website because someone on supertalk doesn't like the PANTONE color of their ad. READ: any such negative posts are going to be deleted. of course if you decide to write slurpingly positive comments on the ads we will be happy to keep them posted.

Meh, it is a little bit crappier viewing the site at work with two bikini'd girls at the top of the page whenever I am browsing.

All I want to know is why they are advertising women's bikinis when there is 1 girl on this site (not including SELEGNA).......

i'm using internet explorer and as i type, there is a delay and it is VERY annoying. i have an ad blocker, but i think i need the source/adress of the H&M ad to block it.

on another note, i think H&M should rethink there ad because people will associate this annoying ad with H&M and thus consciously or subconsciously find H&M annoying.

Thanks Tragic, magic also.....my girls are gone. No offence to SF or anything, the girls are hot but there is no H&M where I live anyways. What does the No Script plug in do by the way? I am a bit of a computertard sometimes

NoScript for firefox will prevent Flash and Java and that sort of stuff from running on a page. For instance on Superfuture I have NoScript set up to run Flash and Java from Superfuture, but to block stuff from googlesyndication.com (which is apparently running something on Superfuture.) Whatever. All I know is that I dont have a problem with blocking 99.9999% of shit I come accross on the internet.
