If paying double is not a big deal then just get the ipad. Other than that nook is probably the best thing in its price range. It's got an app market coming soon and might even get newer version of Android (big maybe). I was playing with it and screen is nice. Does a lot for the price but it definitely is not super fast.

I wouldn't include internet in your deciding factor. It's horrible on almost all forms of legitimate e-readers. I have a Kindle and would recommend it to anyone if you just want to read (books, maga zines, newspapers). Plus it's only $139 for the wireless model. If you feel compelled to mess around with apps and other things I'd just save and go with an iPad.

Agreed with the man above. Skip on the Nook, grab a Kindle if you need an e-reader. It's still the highest rated one to date, not to mention the cheapest.

The nook Color once rooted is a quasi-Android tablet. Generally I've seen good reviews of it.
