Ryu's Leather, and color tranformation

Also, could anybody (Ryu), explain this process and tool?

I just got a wallet from xcoldricex and a Redmoon braid, in the light colours, like in the Ryu's card case, so this is why I wonder.

The two different colours in your first link are 2 separate wallets IMO or rather, the second, darker one is the result of a man-made finish rather than being naturally worn in.

The tool looks like it could be used as a leather burnisher (polisher). Isn't it just the top of a container of leather polish?

If you've bought a saddleleather (pale skin coloured) Redmoon, then it will darken with wear, as it absorbs dirt, oils, dyes (eg indigo crocking off your jeans). After a few years it may get to a very dark brown/oxblood. Depends on the wear.

the tool is what you call a circle slick. your right, ringring, it's used to burnish the edges of leather.

traditionally, it's used by leather makers to burnish edges along with gum tragacanth to get that nice, polished look.

wild swans wallets are amazing. hopefully i'll be able to get one.. haha. i looked at some and i had to wear gloves to handle the wallets, amazing leather.
