I am by no means an evisu expert but something does not look right. My gut says fake but tell me more about them. Where did you get them, what is their story, model number? I am sure an expert on this forum will tell you for sure but they sketch me out a bit -- but it could be because I am from the "too good to be true" school of thought.

I nice clear pic around the cuff and on the inside of the cuff would help. My main red flag is the way the material bunches and wrinkles near some seams and on/around pockets - I don't like how it looks, not clean enough.

japanese denim has become a simulacra of americana. Initially being a faithful reporduction but becoming something else, independant from the original, a true reflection of postmodernity.

i've never been a good eye for fakes but maybe this will help you.

i bought a pair of evisu jeans like that from urbanoutfitters.com when they were having some sort of ridiculous sale. it's probably that exact same model and cost me $150 before shipping. so if he really did get it from urban the price you paid seems about right.

The leather patch on the back looks pretty authentic to me as do the inner tags. They look quite similar to a pair I got from a guy that got them at urban outfitters. The best thing to do is just go to evisu.com and go to contact evisu. If you send them the pictures they can tell you if they are real or not.
