  3. Hooray! After two abortive delivery notifications from FedEx in which I convinced myself they had been mislaid, and nearly 10 years of intermittent curiosity, I finally join the noble brethren of pigfanciers. And they fit. Good news to end the year.

  4. I got these off Mercari brand new for a good deal. I just picked the arcs and gave them a wash - I'm excited to start wearing them!

  5. So based on the previous contests we would do the following: keep the jeans raw/un-washed until the start date verify the "raw-ness" by taking a picture of the jeans with a newspaper or use the digital version of it after that you are allowed to wash/wear/stash away. Whatever makes you happy We are still unsure about the real start date. If December 21st does not work because shippings may be delayed, we will push the start date to January 1st.

  7. Just been having a look for some sort of shareable map on which we could all drop a pin on roughly where we are, to show how far and wide Simone's jeans are going (tbf I am assuming it's all Europe and US, but may be wrong) - does anyone have any ideas on what we could use? I couldn't find anything that I didn't need to log in to

  8. ^ that's a neat idea! Simone is still working on the rivets but it seems he is on a good way!

  9. Or maybe just pull up your favorite web browser, load your preferred news source showing the date, toss your jeans in front of the monitor and snap away. Save a tree!

  10. Have we considered any rules around the start of the contest? I would have assumed wearing is a no go until the official start date (except trying on raw?) but what about washing pre-start date? what usually happens?

  12. Late to the Tender party - learned about this brand a few weeks ago. Got a pair of saddened wattle dyed 136 jeans from neighbour. Bill was super responsive to some of my questions on ig 😌 Rare to see this level of customer engagement. Some wears and washes later, the color’s setting in really nicely and the lovely marbling is starting to show.

  19. I have a DSB x Hinoya pair in a size 36 that is a bit too big in the waist as well. I normally do a machine wash/dry and the pair went from about 95 cm to 91 cm in the waist, but it does stretch rather easily. I'm used to Warehouse pairs continuously shrinking over time, so I hope these continue to shrink. I'll probably wash this pair tomorrow afternoon, I can provide before and after measurements once dried.

  20. I might be in Mexico during the start of the contest and I've never even seen a newspaper in the town I stay in. I hope the online newspaper will suffice.

  21. Finding an analog newspaper might be the toughest part of this contest yet!

  22. You have to show the raw, unworn jeans next to a newspaper displaying the start date of the contest. After that, GO!!!

  23. Been a while since I posted an update in this thread. Here's where we're at: Active Flat Head 3005, 32 - Q4 2021-Present. 11~12 months. Main pair at the moment. These will probably need repairs in a few months. Flat Head 3005XXX, 32 - Q3 2018-Present. About 2 years of wear. Repaired by Indigo Proof in 2021. These might have another month or two of wear before needing knee, rear end, hem repairs. Warehouse 800xx, 31 - Q4 2020 - Present. ~10 months. Repaired by Indigo Proof at 9 months of wear. I wear these sometimes, will probably be my main pair again in the future. Flat Head 7002W Shirt, 40 - Q2 2015 - Present. 1.5~2 years of wear. Elbows repaired by Indigo Proof in 2017. Flat Head 6002W denim jacket, 44 - Q3 2023 - Present. This jacket showed very light signs of wear when I bought it from Japan, I've since added 4~6 months of wear. Inactive Warehouse 1001xx, 31 - Q3 2021 - Present. ~12 months. My "summer jeans," perfect for the warm months. These have various points of damage and need repairs. Will get worn a lot more in the future, after repair. Retired Samurai S710xx, 31 - Q3 2012-2021. 12+ months. I occasionally still wear these, but they're functionally retired. Flat Head 3009, 32 Q4 2012 - Q3 2013. Unknown wears, probably at least 1.5 years. Retired, used for repair scraps. Flat Head 1001, 32 Q3 2013 - Q4 2014. 9~10 months. On display at Rivet & Hide. 3Sixteen ST-120x, 31 - 2015 - 2018. 540 wears. On display at Guilty Party. 3Sixteen RH15, 30 - 2017 - Q2 2018. 366 wears. Various points of damage, and too tight. Full Count 1108, 31 - Q1 2019 - Q3 2021. 13 months. On display at Guilty Party. Stashed Away Flat Head 3003xx, 32 - Dead stock, pre-Levis lawsuit model with painted arcs, red tab. Flat Head 1005, 32 - 16 oz Exceed denim, production from before 2013. Flat Head 3005-AI, 32 - Dead stock, natural indigo mix denim. Analysis I'm mostly wearing older pairs and attempting to put further wear and fading into them, and doubt I'm going to start on a new pair in the next year or so. In 2025, both pairs of TFH 3005s will hit the point where they need critical repairs, and I'll probably get at least one of them fixed and keep wearing. I'm planning to get the Warehouse 1001xx fixed and continue to put wear into them. My 6002W Type II is my main denim top, but I still wear the 7002W shirt one or two times a week. In spring 2025, it'll be the tenth anniversary of my purchase of this shirt, and I'll do a big photo dump/feature on it around then.

  34. I'd say run with it.. i've enjoyed the entire journey, i've enjoyed gaining knowledge even though i've forgotten most of what i knew, i'v enjoyed wearing and obsessing over most of the jeans i've owned.. i wouldn't change any of it, just be aware that ther is never an end to this, there is no grail, we're just trying to fill an empty space inside.

  38. German engineering, baby. Look at how little room I have in there for any wrenches lol. Changed my rear brakes, feeling good about it too since I didn't need to go to my dad for help for once. Rotors were toast and took a lot of PB Blaster, acetylene, and brute force to break free of the hub. Love road salt so much 😑. Also washed my jeans like 2 days ago because I wasn't thinking about having to do my brakes when I started the wash lol.

  39. Surprise delivery of the new late 40s jeans today. This is a straightforward straight leg, high rise fit that's going to check a lot of people's boxes. I took a size 36 on these which is 1 size up from my typical TCB size, I'd say these come up slim relative to the tag size.

  40. Trip down memory lane. Sheffield, as ever yet also increasingly, a curious mix of dereliction and development. But also steeped with history, architecture and, my reason for stopping, long standing traditional booze holes. Well, maybe not the former - long since and still closed, but the latter I was delighted to find, open. Doesn’t serve Kelham Island Brewery, but makes up for it with a superb range of alternative local ale.

  41. I rode up to the old Ski Village yesterday from Kelham Island It was built on the land which used to be Parkwood Springs where folks would live next door to the heavy industry where they worked .. you'd pop out your front door and into the foundry next door.. "see'ya toinght love" kids would play on the slag heaps, you'd be lucky to live to 40.. ..the land was flattened in a slum clearance and folks were relocated to places like Park Hill or Kelvin Flats, it's still toxic af and constantly monitored. When i was a school kid, i did a 24hr ski- (well snowboard) -athon at the Ski Village for Comic Relief.. i say 'did' we just got stoned and fked around for charity. It was the largest artificial ski resort in Europe at that time.. our freestyle Olympians trained here.. when the business hit hard times, it was torched.. by 2016 it had suffered a further 50+ arson attacks.. you'd often see the hillside in flames. In the early 2000s it was just wasteland.. i used to go to allnighters here, namely NY Sushi or Phonetics, watching the sun rise over the city while the ground shook with base was a sight to behold Last time i was here in 2015 it looked like this.. Then a traveling community moved in for a few years (unofficial trailer park) till the council evicted them.. the gates are missing now, i think they got weighed in for scrap... just massive boulders keeping vehicles out ..and now, it's been given back to nature.. a 2km urban MTB trail has been dug around the perimeter.. zero help from council funding, just goodwill of the peeps.. local boy Steve Pete shows us how it sould be ridden ..and us mere mortals ..looking down the last remaining bit of dry ski slope, keeping it on theme.. sleeve of a Full Count sweatshirt ..iphone 4 pano over the city ..

  42. Sheffield marathon today.. they run past our house before heading out towards the Peak District so i got out of dodge early Rode up Whitley Wood Road towards Ringinglow Had a blast around Burbage.. the cloud cover in the valley was incredible, even through this vintage iphone4 Rode down the crazy hill into Hathersage.. i'm now under the clouds ..through to Adventure Cafe at Hope ..took the Edale road.. past The Cheshire Cheese Edale ..up to Mam Tor ..this is the road, i've just cycled up from Edale.. on a 30yr old MTB ..took the bridlepath ..looking over Mam Tor ..the road at t'other side of Mam Tor has been slipping down the hill since the day it was opened.. meh! let's just give it back to nature ..stopped for a stroopwafel, feathuring JMC sweatshirt, vintage 90s era Stussy shorts and Chucks ..rode down into Castleton ..and back home

  43. Yesterday my girlfriend and I went to a vintage market and I snagged some great pieces. Everything but the baseball tee and the Jeff Gordon tee were from the same vendor and he cut me a deal that made my day. Been wanting a varsity jacket for a while now so that was a good find. Then back at her apartment I cooked some lions mane mushrooms to make tacos. Never cooked these before but had them once or twice. It's impressive how well you can make them taste and feel like meat (at least from what I can remember). They were fun to cook too. Today she and I went for a bike ride along the Ohio Erie canal towpath. It's nearing the end of September and it's still mid 80s here in Ohio, and I'm over it. I want to wear jackets already.

  45. No. initially interacted with him on sufu only. The seller with j46 was from Grailed/discord. Banned because he is multiple cheater. I warned at least 3x times about his lies during our conversation. Not sure, that a only successful scam/fraud against other users will be a reason for a ban. Dm r welcome, if u want to understand the situation before act.
