  2. New pair of FW 601xx 1951 "one wash" in size 34, hue of indigo is amzaing , clean and impressive construction. below picture taken on 3rd day of the wear: hemmed by Okayama Denim using their Union Special 43200G , chain stitch with matching color thread, original pair was having 80 cm inseam length, I needed 77cm for 5cm cuff Rivets are pointed / sharp , hopefully will not scratch the skin when putting hands into pockets or when touched without caution. Below waist measurement pictures taken before first wear: Waist measured 86cm , using "The Relax Method": 88cm waist width using flat method: Speedway provided waist measurement using "Flat Method" and was flexibile in communication whereas "Hoosier" was rigid, so I bought from Speedway Waist measured again after 3rd day of the wear, it shows 3cm stretched, now measuring 91cm. It seems it will easily stretch more 1 or 2 cm like any other Japanese denim in coming 20 to 30 wears, one wash pairs usually stretch 5cm (tends to reach raw position) by passage of time.

  5. I'd say run with it.. i've enjoyed the entire journey, i've enjoyed gaining knowledge even though i've forgotten most of what i knew, i'v enjoyed wearing and obsessing over most of the jeans i've owned.. i wouldn't change any of it, just be aware that ther is never an end to this, there is no grail, we're just trying to fill an empty space inside.

  7. This. We constantly learn something and then forget it. It’s fine—the objects of knowing flow in smoothly and leave just as smoothly, leaving no trace. We stay.

  8. I like this^ Forever chasing the first hit for me.. the feeling i had when i thought.. this is it.. this is what i've been looking for, that emotion is forever stuck in your brain, it can grow to become something more than it ever was. I'v always been mildly hooked on SC-47s because of this^ reason, are they the 'best' jeans i've ever owned, no of course not.. but after a 20+ year quest for the denim grail wearing numerous pairs to rags without ever buying a second pair.. i've come to understand that somthing which can trigger an emotional response is more important than a perfect replication of a 1946 detail. When i look back at my overwhelming feelings of want for past denim acquisitions, hoping they would replicate the feeling only for them to be forgotten and replaced by more current acquisitions.. maybe this one will? .. i'm glad i stepped off that train.

  9. Wanted to add he sold these fake sp28 to an unsuspecting buyer. Was called out on it in discord and he kept saying he was going to make things right. Consensus was he didn’t do a thing. https://grailed.app.link/8k4iYR5rVOb

  10. Warehouse x3, Georgia Boots - as I’m on my way to Yosemite so I’m wearing the cheap ones. This Warehouse Lot 2202 is really fantastic. The attention to detail is wild.

  11. This could be a blunder, but I am hoping not. I'd previously liked the look of SDA's mainline 15oz denim, but in that former life here none of their cuts appealed at the time. Fast forward, and it still remained one of the few brands who's denim I wanted to have experienced. And then, they introduce their new SD-100 and SD-800 models (same cut). So I've just bought a pair of the SD-100. Hoping that they aren't too slim. Osaka shop blog here And BeeBee's trying them on with Naoki, here:

  14. This is a serious question with an obvious philosophical undertone. If we are deeply impressed by something (it could be anything, from a pair of jeans to a piece of music or a fascinating journey, and so on), we might want to repeat it, to relive the same experience. Or even to experience it endlessly. Of course, this is impossible. Everything changes endlessly, and these changes, both objective and subjective, are beyond our control. As for me, I have never bought duplicate pairs—not because there weren’t jeans I particularly liked, but rather because I tend to seek variety and try new things in the quest for the denim grail... 🙃

  22. Yep there is this ^ - and to add I’ve come to understand my favorite pairs never start out that way and it all depends on the journey they’ve had which is never something that can be purchased. So, with that, I understand intellectually it’s never a solution to be solved by getting another of the same pair. It will probably turn out differently anyways. Hasnt stopped me from getting off the train yet but it’s something I sort of want to do, but I still see stuff I want to try!
