  2. ^ Wishing you luck!! I got back into climbing a couple of months ago also and almost immediately reactivated both my old hand injuries on some overhang routes. Trying to practice through it when I can but I’m still back down to only 1-2 times a week lol. Hope you are having fun climbing again!!
  3. New jacket day. Was on the hunt for a type 2 or lee rider for a while and found this orrizzonti era denime on mercari. Got hit with customs, as usual, which doubled the price, but still. I like it very much. Else: bike helmet. Backpack. Canes. Muji shoes. Casio watch.

  6. Agree, but it’s not like they have to do this. I thought it was still a pretty cool thing for them to take on.
  7. I finally found the TCB jacket and ordered this past weekend to avoid tariffs. Now this 😭 It was accepted EMS on 8/26 so we’ll see what happens.
  8. Pinto Ranch has a few low-heeled roper models from Rios and Black Jack for reasonable prices. I think that they all have a leather sole though. RRL has sold white label roughout ropers from Rios as well if you can stomach the fashion tax, but I think that they also have leather soles Secondhand market for cowboy and ropers boots has quite a lot of good deals even in weird sizes like mine (13 B). There's a slight learning curve to deciphering stamps and tags though to find the good stuff.
  9. I have some in XL. I probably could have gotten away with a large, but I'm tall and have a toddler so I need to be able to wash and dry without too much thought. They have shrunk a bit and the hem hits about halfway down my fly if even a little higher
  10. I have a few in white and grey, I frequently wash them on hot and tumble dry; they've shrunk up two sizes in the body length, but the width has remained relatively stable.
  11. The Copper King repro just arrived, and damn is the fabric stiff compared to the 101-J I've been wearing. When the description says high sleeve holes, they really mean it. Gonna throw it in the wash and dryer to soften it up and put up some pics when I get the chance... it's a ballin' jacket
  12. I have the black, white, and grey Whitesville tees and they all shrank a full size with a cold wash. I imagine they would shrink even more if washed on hot and tumble dried.
  13. He does do ropers, at least I think I've seen some on his Instagram. Rios does a lot of interesting models as well, most of them a little flashy for my liking. Some of the models they've done for Japanese retailers are interesting. That would be a lot longer of a road trip if I wanted to see the factory.
  14. Trying hard to get back into climbing after close to two years mostly off feat. Union Special Daisy Mae, Columbiaknit rugby, M41059, Bootleggers chalk bag, Acopa Chameleons
  15. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Their standard international markup is high enough that they should still be taking in plenty. Even if every other brand’s international partners did pass the tariffs directly on to customers, IH would still be one of the more expensive options, relative to domestic pricing
  16. ^ Does he do ropers, or just true western boots? The big draw of the Black Bear Brand models, for me, is that they’re the only boots I’ve seen from Rios (or any of the standard western boot brands, honestly, although I can’t claim to have done a very exhaustive search) that ship with a gum sole and a low heel.
  17. I've already told myself that if we ever end up leaving Austin and moving elsewhere I'll get a pair made by Lee Miller from Texas Traditions. His workshop is only a few miles from our house, they're much more of an investment however compared to the RW.
  18. I haven't bought anything from Iron Heart in many years, but still get their emails. In their latest blast, they mention they're going to cover all duty fees associated with purchases made by US customers. Duty fees could be anywhere from 10% - 50%. I've got to say, this is pretty huge and kudos to IH for taking this on.
  19. …uh, and THE BEAR switched from Schwanen to Whitesville for a reason 😉
  20. Twice a year ish I still go back and forth about ordering the ropers that Rios of Mercedes does for Black Bear Brand—if I ever end up going for a boot of that style it’ll be those, without question
  21. WTB p59a-ds size XS or S
  22. Anyone going to be in Osaka on September 21st? Slash is releasing a tux at the Samurai shop, he's done these pairs in the past where he uses Samurai's denim and hardware. Would love a pair, I tried on some of the S2000HX (which I think use the same 15 oz. denim) but talked myself out of them. Here's a link to the Instagram post, and the Osaka shop has a few other posts referencing the previous releases.
  23. Looks like Red Wing is bringing back the Pecos boots in Hawthorne Muleskinner, been wanting some roper style boots lately so might give these a try. Seems like a more affordable option than the Lofgren Duke Ropers, which seem to be impossible to find in my size.
  24. ^we have a pup incoming so I’ll keep this in mind ha
