Sanforized vs non-sanforized

What impact should this make on what size to buy your jeans in?

I know that in Nudie/APC etc you should buy tight and expect them to stratch, but does the ball-crushing mantra apply to non-sanforized denim?

Also, should whether it's selvage or not affect what size you get?

sanforized or not and selvedge or not, neither matters. of course you dont want to buy non-sanforized raw jeans skin tight, but one wash you can buy tight.

Thanks for that mate. Thinking of getting a pair of Edwin Rainbow Selvage in a 31, but they are bloody tight. Like a small hotel - no ballroom.

but, after a while all jeans are bound to shrink, regardless.

Is this really true. I hope so because I have alot of sanforized denim that is fairly new and I lost 20 pounds this winter (finally quit smoking ****). I would love for them to shrink up a bit when I start washing them regularly.
