Any way to prevent black M-65 from rubbing off on white clothes?

I have a black M-65 that leaves marks all over my white clothes. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Can I spray it with some sort of protector?

I suppose I could just not wear light colored clothing underneath it, but I pretty much only wear white t-shirts and sweatshirts.

either wash it by itself

or try spraying scotch guard on it

yeah, see if the first wash will get away the initial bleeding.

I was hesitant to wash it, because I wash afraid it would shrink it. But I suppose a cold wash & hang dry would be fine.

Try leaving it overnight in a pair of water with maybe a teaspoonful or more of salt. It helps the jacket from bleeding.

yeah supposedly soaking in cold water with vinegar helps to set the color?

well i think the problem is that fabrics can only hold so much dye and soaking the fabric in water will only leech some of the dye out

Best if you just buy a surplus used M-65 jacket. So no problems anymore.
