i'm trying to learn how to make my own pair of women's denim

where can i find a good pattern?

tips? suggestions on how to cut and sew?

begin with tshirts.

pants such as jeans can be complicated because of the amount times you have to connect four parts at one point, will confuse even the better pattern makers.

Jeans aren't really that complicated, I pulled if of pretty ok for my first sewing project a couple of weeks back.

Do what I did, take an old pair of jeans that you don't like anymore and take them apart carefully, trying to remember how everything was connected. Then copy each piece to a piece of cardboard or something and adjust anything that you didn't like about your old jeans.

Ok, here are some pics. Keep in mind that this was the first time I used a sewingmachine since elementary school. I didn't have an iron which made thing a bit difficult when folding the fabric.

I agree, nice work...I dig the pattern and that denim is SMOOTH looking.

I got the denim at my local fabric store. The denim on the pair that I posted is very smooth and somehow strange, which why I got curious about it and bought it. The other pair I made is regular denim though.

Yes, the fell seams were a big struggle... and having no iron didn't help a lot either. I tried to push hard on the fabric with coffe table books before sewing. But guess it's just not the same thing.
