what is this, and how do i wear it?

Some sort of skinny tie, but the length throws me off. when tied so that one side is the appropriate length, the other end is the exact same length!?

cowboy neck thingy comes to mind, but more knowledgeable insight would be appreciated

should i just tie it differently? if so, how?

you could tie a full windsor, that would cut some length... also it looks like you could tie it longer too by a little bit at least.

it looks like you have it tied really short. like not even past your belly button

just tie it really long, past the bottom of your belt

the pictures are a bit deceiving, i had the camera tilted to avoid mirror/flash interaction.

the length is actually down to my belt, my shirt is untucked.

i suppose i'll just do a double windsor and start it off really short.

dont do a fat knot, the knot you have now looks really good, suits the width of the tie

just go with the two tails, ive seen people with skinny ties like that, including on here, and it looks fine. there cant be much done because there is nothing to hide either end
