hey folks from what i read on the search, if i get the 501 stf lvc, the consensus is to get 1 inch extra in the waist because they will stretch over time anyway, and the lenght about 2 or 3 inches over.

would all you lvc guys agree with this?

i am planniing on cold soaking first to get the intial shrink out and then washing regularly after the first 6 months... no dryer, hang dry only.

with that in mind is 1 inch to 1.5 inches good if they fit that way in teh store, rather than going the standard 2 sizes up?

you are talking about the normal STF that are like $40, right? If so, they will shrink down about two inches in the waist. If you try them on in the store they should be really baggy and probably fall down without a belt.

Dude, wash them warm before you even start to wear them. Get all of the shrinking done as soon as possible or else you will end up like CL_Smooth, who has a four month old pair of baggy jeans that need to be washed.

thanks guys,

ok i was able to pick up the06 spring (it has the new 06 spring booklet attached to it and the store got them in 2 weeks ago so i kno they are new) lvc 47 32/32 yesterday, well i soaked them in cold over night 8 hours then spin to get the water out, those things strank down to a 29.75/29.5 respectively... guess theey werent' kidding when they said to buy 2 inches/3 inches up.. which these new dimenesions are prefect.

the lenght is only 3/4 inch over what i wanted so that is good and the waist is literally perfect, i know that will stretchwith wearing but already i see the leg twist in the denim.

can't wait to break these bad boys in.

that's cool and the good thing is that after the soaking they were really stiff as all heck when they dried, almost like starched but i used some spray on starch i found that this softens them a little and lets you put them on easy and also will let them stretch a little so they mold a little better to your body.

but these things so fit great, mgiht have to pick up a another pair before this store sells out.

i've been looking for a great fitting pair of jeans for so long (the nudies rrds are a great fit but they didn't fit perfect till after the first 6 months and wash for them to mold more to my body), who would have thought that all i had to do was go back to the basics and get levis 501s to get that almost "easy fit" cut that isn't too baggy.

i think someone was right when they said that levi's are underrated.
