please help-acne max vs julian red cali

recently discovered this forum, amazing.

i'm having a hard time deciding which pair to buy...acne max raw vs julian red cali no wash. and don't say both, because i'll be tempted.

what's everyone's opinion? thanks in advance.

and is it true you size up one for acne jeans, and JR's are true to fit

My understanding is size one up for both Acne and JR. I have acne mics, size 31, which fit perfectly. I normally wear 30 in diesel, double rl, 5ep, helmut lang.

If i were you I'd go with the JR Californias. I think the denim and construction will be much higher quality than (made in turkey) acnes.

acne's are made in turkey?!!! argh, i'm disappointed.

i wear a 31, can squeeze into a 30.

perhaps i'll go with apc NS...where are they made? hopefully not bulgaria. what is the denim quality of apc's? i've read too much in this forum and my eyes hurt.

Yes, acne's are made in turkey. at least my mics are.

APCs are made in either Tunisia or Macau. I like the denim quality, but they tend to lose a lot of indigo in the wash. (I have cures, not NS -- the NS is selvage). I think JRs might be better jeans for the money, at least construction-wise. You can't really go wrong though with both fit- and denim-wise.

on the fos5 sizing chart it says that the california no wash runs a size bigger than the actual tag size...

should i just ignore that and take your guys advice and size up instead?

what oz. are the acne jeans? selvedge or not?

and to people with JR cali's.. the butt fit is saggier, too much, too little, just right?

i like my jeans more fitted in the seat, perhaps that's why i was considering acne max...but now i hear the quality of the denim is not great, now back to square one.
