Denim Market Research (Forcast to 2016)

Hello Superdenim, I've been working on my denim collection for the last year and is currently in the pre-production process. While that process is going we started working on our Market Analysis for product placement and distrubution. With all that said, let me get to the purpose of this thread.

Market information for denim is not just laying around the web and most people want you to pay a huge amout for the good useful information. I've got a lot of money already wrapped in Product development and prototyping and trims and is having a hard time forking over the money for research (which I feel is as important as the development). So I thought a good idea is to just purchase it and share it with other designers that might need the information and if they want to make a small donation I would gladly except through paypal. I'm not tryign to get over or make a buck, I'm just sure someone else out there can use this information but don't have the money to fork over either. PM me if this sounds good.

I admire your good taste!

Now tell us (me really) how we (me again) are supposed to pay for something we don't know the essence of.

You say that you are willing to share it, but also that you aren't ready "to fork over either".

To be blunt you are making very little sense, which coming from me, is quite the critique.

I've been told that I can be indirect in my conversations. So i'll attempt to be direct and i'm sure you'll tell me if i did a good job or not.

I figured if I get enough people that would be interested in such research document, i would just bite the bullet and buy it and share it with any designer thats willing to contribute to the cost.

I put the content to show what kind of information you will be receiving.

It seems like i misunderstood you, my bad.

Unfortunatly i don't think you'll find the people in here as the taste of jeans worn by the people of this forum only represent a very small part of the denim wearing community and even then it's a very special branch.

Good luck though. And your first post is a bit hard to read.

No worries, the denims we are producing is premium and represent a very small community of denim enthusiasts. As a designer I referenced this site a lot durning the design process, I thought it would be a good place to get the attention of others in my position. At any rate i'm still going to buy it, and if someone interested in the information they can reply and I'll hook them up.

You might as well drop something.

The only company in here that actually caters to so many people that they need such a market research would be Selfedge, and i'm pretty sure they already have one.

Blue in green doesn't produce enough of their own to warrant one.

Damn this could have been done over pm's. I'll retire myself.

Good luck.

At this level self edge doesn't need market research of that complexity; japanese raw denim is such a niche market that kiya can do his own market analysis based upon what sells and what doesn't.

On another note, shitttt just get hired at Levi's or VF (owners of Wrangler and Lee) and get paid to do this mang. At your startup level it's not cost efficient to do that scope of research

I was under the same impression but every distributor we met with requested this information even as a start-up. Anything we share at the phase are pure projections.

We have both within our scope. Most of the distributor we been talking with has a large bandwidth.

damn you must be going to some big distributors if they are asking for all this research from you... I'm assuming you are not just going to your local BiG/SE type store and are going to a more departmental type one?
