i made a new paypal account (since my old one had my bank info) and only link my cc to it just in case anything happens i'll do a chargeback via cc (hasn't happened yet..)

i would find out where he lives and and make him pay. 500 may not be a lot to some folks but its still a good amount of money to me

Almost everyone on here uses Paypal and you essentially get no protection with it unless you do what they want you to do (they're pushing people into using Ebay since Ebay owns them and they don't like it when people buy/sell outside of Ebay).

Prior to Ebay acquiring Paypal, there was a decent amount of protection...now there is none unless you know someone.

Ah shit son, this sucks! I hate PayPal! They always take my money but do jack shit to help, especially if you are a seller on eBay! All the times I have ever bought anything over the internet, I have only had 1 item lost and they didn't want to know, fortunately my Credit Card company was more then happy to help. Just recently I sold a snowboard jacket, I live in Canada and some kid bought from Australia. It cost $50 to send it to his CONFIRMED ADDRESS. Two months later I get a dispute, they give him back the money since I sent it via Airmail and not some ridiculously expensive tracked express that no one in their right mind would pay for and that's that. Turns out a week later the jacket comes back, and guess what? No such address! So much for a CONFIRMED ADDRESS. So I sent an email to them stating I want a refund of the postage as I kept up my end of the bargain. First two emails, they just fobbed me around and when I finally sent them some real hate mail they reply with a sorry this is an automated email, please choose a different email address. Fucking snobs!

Oh and PS I recently sold a pair of sunglasses on eBay for $1040 and PayPal took out $40! For what? I'm pissed off about the $40 as well as the postage I am owed ($50), hate to think what I would be like with $500!
