Hi... have just moved from Melbourne to Philadelphia and hoping somebody out there could give me some recommendations of stuff to check out...clothes, food etc... thanks! also somewhere to get a haircut...perhaps even in NY when i go on a little journey

i was by Ubiq today and bought some stuff, they also told me to stop by 8 & south, and 7 & chestnut, havent gone there yet.

Walnut st from like 13-16 has alot of shops like polo, burberry, beneton, diesel, puma etc

Buddhakan on Chestnut & 3rd -- Pan Asian & cool decor

Blue in Green for brekkie

Thai -- Erawan on 23rd-ish (a dive, but delicious)

the "new" Continental at 19th & Chestnut -- fun kitsch retro

Di Bruno's on 18th -- panini

I don't like Marathon Grills, but they're always packed.

Reading Terminal, local organic on fri and sat, (Philadelphia Fair Food Project),

also Di'Brunno's 17th st for "Euro" food, ie: cheeses etc. also: Metropolitan for breads.

Record shop:

AKA in old city, beautiful, knowledgable chick usually at counter.

Tailor:

Sues Tailorshop, germantown Ave, Chestnut Hill. makes my suits/shirts for 9-5.

Thrift shop:

Village Thrifts, especially the Germantown one, cheap and random. once found a David Hicks designed 70's channel Necktie for fifty cents.
