new oldskools destroying my ankles

i got a new pair of oldskools- they are black/red/denim. they are tearing the shit out of the back of my ankle. left is bleeding.

i have 2 other pairs of slip-ons and 1 other pair of oldskools and ive never had this problem. the inside ankle of this pair seems harder/stiffer and the back seems slightly higher too. im guessing this is what is causing it.

any tips on breaking them in or making them wearable?

try putting "moleskin" on the inside of the shoe. cheap and readily available so no big loss if it doesn't work.

I second the moleskin. After you wear them for a month or so, they should break in and not give you blisters anymore if they're the right size.

The stitching could be off just enough that it causes a bad fit around the heel. Like maybe the material is not following the last.
