saw them in nyc on the infamous '98 tour where mark was arrested for getting into a fistfight with his keyboardist/girlfriend... he had a black eye and it was really intense. the album wasn't so hot but the show was hot hot fire.

i like a lot of the fall, and i think a lot if it is trying way too hard to sound ART ROCK

There's all kinds of swagger in The Fall. I see them as somewhat similar to the band, Sparks--both continually release albums despite a lack of commercial success; they are both highly idiosyncratic, cultish and rather obscure despite being in the business for over 30 years; you either love them or hate them.

Mark E.Smith is also involved in another project called Von Sudenfed--electro with Smith's characteristic vocals.

I suppose I like The Fall enough to pay $50 for their vinyl. My favorite albums are:
