hm, i will try to start a topic:

dwight macdonald, in his review of kael, claims that she focuses too much on the intellectual, and not enough on the aesthetics of film.

if anything, i feel that kael focuses too much on the aesthetics, and doesn't give a hoot about the intellectual.

i don't see this thread going anywhere, really, though.
