Taking a trip to Boston this weekend. Anyone know of some places to go for a nice wool coat or peacoat with a budget of $150 and under?

There is an H&M on newbury st. Just walk up and down that street and you'll probably find a boutique or two that has one. There is also a club monaco at the prudential and a urbanoutfitters at the edge of newbury(or a st. parallel)

Would you mind posting up pics so I can see how it fits? I'm considering getting the same coat but can't find anywhere in Toronto that stocks Schott.

+1

i'd like to see myself too...anyone have fits of the black sterlingwear peacoat as well?

would anyone with a sterlingware peacoat please post a picture of how the fit looks on an actual person instead of oversizing like they did on the website? and would anyone have gotten it in a short lenght?

Thanks

take a look at styleforum, and search for sterlingwear. i'm pretty sure a few posters have posted fits of the peacoat sized down 1 chest size. thats what most people there recommend for a slim fit.

Rugby makes a great Pea Coat. I like it because it has the heft and warmth of a Navy one but fitting and style from Ralph Lauren. If your looking for a fancy oneI would look else where because it is very basic. 3lbs of wool and a nice rugged cotton liner. I get compliments on mine where every go.

Been looking for a peacoat that's classic in the sense of a "classic peacoat," but also unique. Thrown-in the bunch are also some duffle coats. Opinions of on these and which to get over the bunch? (This may have fit in the this or that thread, but it seemed better here)

  • 3 weeks later...
I'll post pics when I get mine. My size was actually in stock so I should have it soon.

Jeepers, mine was in stock when I ordered and it still took five weeks to get here. Crazy.

Anyway, this thing is hella slim. I like it except for the fact that the armpits are really, really tight, so lifting my arms above my waist pulls the cuffs to about halfway between my wrist and elbow, and lifting my arms above my head pulls them 3/4 of the way to my elbow. I'm glad I got a tall because I'd be fucked otherwise.

Anyway, I went down a size (my chest is 34.25, I'm just under 6' 2" / 142 lbs, and I got a 32 tall) and the fit is really slim but good aside from the armpits. I'll post pics when I get a chance.

The Schott Duffle Coat you posted looks good, but it's unlined. For $225 you could get a lined Gloverall on ebay.

The Schott pea coat is made in the USA. The website is www.schottnyc.com They have a store locator, so you can probably try one on before you buy, although the best prices are online. (try galaxyarmynavy.com)

My avatar is a cartoon image from the 70's of the Mexican Camacho mythological creature, which Supreme adopted for a t-shirt.

im liking the jacket, just wondering if it is fitted? Kinda looks boxy in some pictures but in others it looks rather slim

thanks for the clarification
