It's that time again, folks. After the huge Hubble Space Telescope breakdown some weeks back, the STS-125 Shuttle mission was postponed until 2009, meaning that STS-126 was moved up to the last few months of this year. The time for that mission is almost upon us! Endeavour will be rocketing away to the space station TODAY (tonight) at 4:55 PST.

The purpose of STS-126's flight to the International Space Station is to resupply the station, and to repair and service the worn Solar Array Rotary Joints that have plagued the ISS over the past year or so. Finally, there will be a crew rotation for Expedition 18 of the ISS mission.

Space shuttle launches are fucking awesome; don't miss out on this. It's going to be a night launch and night launches always look the best.

For a lot of you this will probably be one of the last times you'll ever see a shuttle launch live because they are decommissioning the shuttles in 2010.
