Ideally, How Should New Raw Denim Fit?

When you first put on a pair of brand new raw denim (specifically sugargane in my case), what is the ideal fit? Is it good to be a little big? small? just right? because with the washing and stretching and stuff, i know the jeans will be altered somehow...

So what kind of fit is good for brand new raw? What would be considered "bad" too?

if it's sugarcanes unsanforized they should fit you really big because they will shrink...

if it's a sanforized raw denim they should fit you a bit small because they will stretch 1 inch on the waist.

tight and uncomfortable, do a bike ride and then their looser and more comfortable and they only get more comfortable

I say buy them smaller, just so it fits slightly too tight. They'll start stretch out after about 7 wears or so.

I just bought APCs from Mauro in Washington DC. If I understand it right, he gave me a pair that's a bit tight (so long as you don't feel any pain) because it'll stretch a bit after breaking in.
