MOVING TO LANSING (MI), WHAT 2 buy for winter

Hey guys I'm from Singapore and heading to Michigan State Unviersity. I understand they they have frigid cold winters and over here in Singapore, temp is always at 30 degrees celsius, no snow, hail, nada.

Want to get the low down on what nice winter wear I can get for the cold winters (could be online, or at Michigan and what are the shops I need to check out for anything at all.)

Also, are gloves and SNOW BOOTS absolutely essential for winters? could I makle do with redwings?

I'm a slim dresser btw, Dior 28s and XS T-shirts.

snow boots are not essential, but would be nice. red wings with dior would not look good.

Yeah. Which is why I'm having difficulty sourcing for boots. So, I don't really need snow boots? You mean my normal chucks are fine?
