i thought there was a supertrash small questions threak but i cant find it

i know the big questions thread was deleted on my watch (if current mod can undelete it i will rep)

and i know this dont warrant a new thread of its own but it is just a small question and i figger any small irrelevant question can go here unless someone finds the old thread (i can't)

can clerics wear armor? can they use bladed weapons?

i knew there was some restriction akin to that of a wizard but i forget

someone just told me about a clerical error and it made me wonder if they accidentally put on chain mail or mistakenly purchased a sword or something

Because cleric spells are not as intense as arcane spells that wizards and sorcs do I'm pretty sure they're able to cast while in armor. And my cleric used a battleaxe or sometimes scyth for higher crit hit chances. To be safe you should just make sure your cleric's wisdom modifier is high enough to cast decent spells, and throw in a few levels of fighter for basic combat feats and less armor restrictions. (0)

Yeah but obviously their casting abilities are not as versatile or effective as a true caster like a wiz or sorc. They're probably as "powerful" as Druids, if not a little weaker.. just depends on your build probably.

hmmmn. i am 6'0" and 155 lbs, loose-limbed, kinda gangly. i am liking the sound of "druid"-----can they wear armor, and have bladed weapons?

wait a minute, there is a difference between a wizard and sorcerer? which heading would a necromancer fall under?

thanks again for all your help

friendliest thread on superfuture

Yeah you do sound like you're built like a dru, but I wouldn't say they need heavy weapons because they usually engage in unarmed combat after shapeshifting into a beast of some sort. Because they fight unarmed, you'd want a higher dexterity as opposed to strength -- which will limit the weight of the armor you can use. AC is important but remember you can get your AC from dexterity as well, if you use light armor or throw in some levels of Monk.

The difference between wiz and sorc are the modifiers from which they gain their spell casting abilities: wiz uses wisdom, sorcs use charisma. I would go the sorc route for a necromancer.
