Candle wax on my Unwashed Raw Selvedge

Dear Super Memebers,

Need advice, I have gone and got Candle wax on my Unwashed beautifully coloured jeans. I dont want to wash these bad boys. Has anyone been as silly as me and had to deal with such a problem. I am sorry to ask for advice on this but really dont want to stop wearing my favourite piece of Denim.

Pick or scrape off as much excess wax as possible. Then sandwich the denim between 2 sheets of absorbent paper. Then melt the wax by applying a warm iron or hairdryer. The wax melt come off and get soaked up by the paper.

You might want to try putting an ice cube on the wax to make it brittle and then cracking it off. I would worry about melting the wax (with all due respect Mr. ringring) for fear of it soaking into the denim.

Nope.. RingRing's method is how you correctly remove wax from clothing.

I should never have doubted ringring. Heloise of Hints from Heloise says to do it ringring's way too. For future reference the ice trick does work for getting gum out of hair.

There is an interesting development on the hints from helois website concerning wax removal. Apparently there is a more modern wax removal method that involves ice. Here is what she says in her advice then vs. advice now column:

Candle Wax on Carpet

THEN: Towel and iron

NOW: Ice and a metal pan

Put ice cubes into a metal pan. Place it right on top of the candle wax until the wax is frozen solid. With a small hammer, hit the wax to break it up. Pick up the pieces. Then apply dry-cleaning solvent on a clean cloth to remove any leftover residue.

i've definitely tried the iron/paper bag method and it works great, use a plain brown paper bag on both sides and iron away
