FORWARDING PACKAGES from us to uk any advice experince

im wanting to buy something but could only get it shipped to a us adress not a uk one, i want the package then to be resent to me here , anyone any experience all the sites iv looked at seem to want you to sign up for a year then paymonthly ect

i just want a one off pretty much

yea why not use someone who is proxying stuff? I'd much rather use an individual, then I know what they'll mark on the package. and also if its sent from a company, I'd imagine the chances of it going to customs being greater.
