Wire and Gang of Four to headline festival of the year.

There are too many festivals! Scratch that; there are too many gigs in fields calling themselves festivals. But, while last year’s Bestival seemed a little void of its usual magic, we still have Secret Garden Party, End Of The Road and, of course, Glastonbury, to fend off temptations of attending the corporate Vs and Readings.

Glastonbury’s gone, however, and there’s still way too many heavily sponsored events out-numbering those un-corrupted by external partnership forces. So Offset is here to rally the underdogs of festival promotions.

Hainault Forest Country Park is the site for the first ever Offset Festival, which takes place on August 30-31st. And unlike the major fixtures of the festival season, its organisers appear to be delivering their promise of a lineup that doesn’t look spookily like every other bill this summer; “Avoiding the same old "safe" lineups, Offset takes risks with it's bands and focuses on quality,†say the festival throwers, which is probably why they’ve booked WIRE and Gang Of Four to headline their first event.
