found a pair of nikes i like but don't like the big swoosh. anyone ever removed it? i know this is a fairly stupid question but just wondering.

i never attempted to do this, but i think we've all thought about this. depends on the model i guess. some are both stitched and stuck on by adhesive. if the particular one you got is just stitched, i don't see why your local shoe repair shop couldn't do it.

I saw someone waiting for Q at 42nd once wearing dunk highs with swooshes removed. Looked great.

I didn't slow down to ask him about it though. No apparent structural issues due to swoosh removal.

yeah, positive.

Kunk you know about the Alife dunk knock offs right? They look good sometimes too. Friend of mine tells me they have much better construction quality than dunks though I don't have much experience with either.

i should do this on my af1s... i tried removing some shit from my stan smiths but the stitch holes were big and visible. >:

i think they came out with some official swooshless ones already, but none of them were that nice cause the silouette changed. which af1 were you considering?

they actually seem less bulky than nike.

i don't know which ones they are; they are mids, with a long buckle strap and short velcro.

the swoosh kinda goes underneath the panel on the back though, sheeeit.

i know which ones you are talking about, i also have/had a pair of those. if i find them i will try to remove the swoosh and let you know how things work out with the back panel.

moar info on swoosh-less af1's.

kinda the only profile besides vandals I can dig.

don't bother, they really suck. for some reason they look so fucking roundish. there were alot of them coming out like maybe 2-3 years ago. they didn't do well, so they haven't been coming out ever since.

i've done it to a pair of a dunks before just using a seam ripper and an xacto

Same here, removed the inner swooshes on a pair of Dunk Hi's, used a seam ripped but they were also glued and the glue started collecting dirt as I hadn't bothered to take it off (wich should be no problem with some cleaning stuff btw). Also had to cut through the part where the swooshes meet and are covered by this other piece at the heel.

Stich holes were also kind of visible but I didn't really care as those were my EPIC beaters anyway...

Quoted for truth. Have seen it tried on NB's and Nike, highs lows and AF's. i dont know why i have seen this done so many times, i dont know any sneaker painting people. I kinda think that customising kicks is silly 99.9% of the time.

Anyway, you see the stitch holes pretty fucking clear, it looks wack.

thanks all. it is the nike vintage vandal in question. i almost pulled the trigger on the raf vandals today but although the peeps at oki-ni are always great to deal with, returning is expensive -$50 last time.

also, unless raf shoes are cut big, i don't think a euro 45 will cut it. the nike vandals are almost the same colorway and not too different.; i wouldn't be removing the nike out of shame, but nike is so fucking played.

anyway, thanks again, and i'm gonna wait to see how much of my children's future i blow on cp at den first.
