B. Store Shoes

I haven't seen any threads on this brand and I searched a bit for them and found nothing, so I thought I'd make one. I've been looking for a new pair of black lace ups for a while now, and stumbled on the B. Store Mario1:

I'm very interested in buying these, but before I spend $450 on them I would like to hear from some other people who have bought them. So can anyone attest to their quality? If they don't have the quality that would justify the price range (like Opening Ceremony) could someone reccomend some alternatives?

And finally, the only stockist that I know of right now is Kronkron, so if anyone knows others then post them up.

I own them.

The quality is exactly the same as Opening Ceremony becuase they both come from the same manufacturer.

If you mean $450.00 american dollars on them, that would be ridiculous. I paid in the mid 200's for mine and though that was far too steep given the quality. The styling is decent, the profile is slim and tidy, and as you can see, the soles are incredibly thin.

The choice is ultimately yours. While I don't regrett getting them, I might not give em my full reccomendation...

I really love the look of these shoes, but everyone says the quality is a bit off. I'm always on the look out for a similar style by a different brand in hopes someone might make a more high quality version. Does anyone know if anyones stocks them in the US?

Yeah 450 USD is the price quoted from Kronkron. Where did you purchase yours from?

I got some mario 2. They're nice looking shoes but the quality is def off. The sole is too thin and the upper start getting out of shape after only a few wears. Same goes for OCs.

They're a good choice if you can pay for good looking shoes that won't last longer than one season

It's the same story as with Opening ceremony shoes as wolves said. I have discussed this a few times in the OC shoes thread. They offer a certain aesthetic that might be tough to find otherwise with the leather (wood?) sole and midsole, they're slim but round toed, and with a real low profile. OC and Bstore have some interesting colorways, and designs too. Ultimately you're paying for the style as the quality simply isn't that great. They're a good deal in the $150-200 range, fair in the $200-275 range, and probably overpriced if you're paying over $300 for it. The quality isn't bad or anything on OC shoes, but when you feel them, and examine them in person, they don't seem like $300 shoes at all. Don't fucking buy them for $450 please. Not worth it.

Yeah I have no intentions of spending that much on them. I figured at that pricepoint their quality would be much much higher than Opening Ceremony.

Thanks for the caveats and info so far.

If anyone knows of stockists besides Kronkron and their official site, I would appreciate hearing that. I would still be interested in buying a pair for under $300.

I have been looking for a thin protective sole for a pair of my shoes but couldn't find any. Where did you get yours from?

You can probably get them for a little over 300USD shipped from the source,

I got mine at the Oliver Spencer store that Odin helped design/curate in Manhattan's West Village. This was a year back, but it might be worth inquiring about.

Thanks, I checked the official site but they didn't have my size. I also just called Oliver Spencer and they no longer carry the brand.

Thanks for anyone interested Opening Ceremony has the Mario 1 in black in a size 41, but not 45 which is the size I would need. And Tres Bien has no stock of them at the moment.
