Suits have sizing, at the very least learn what yours is in various brands. Make sure you also know if you're a regular, long or short. This isn't tees we're talking about here...

Your shoulder measurement is more important that pit-to-pit. You can always have a tailor take the sides in for a slimmer fit, but fixing shoulders in a difficult job and requires more money.
