I'm going to be moving from New York to Connecticut soon. New Canaan to be exact. What boutiques, if any, are there? Any good eats?

rugby, ralph lauren flag ship store are in new canaan, some ok sneaker spots. you gotta eat at village gourmet in norwalk ct, jeffs cuisine in norwalk, ct. patagonia is in westport.

i grew up in ct. i will never go back. at least you're close to nyc and boston.

eastern pulse in milford is a skate/snowboard shop with an sb account. They ussually overprice for the hyped dunks though

word, damn, i'm really not looking forward to moving there then, especially moving from New York.

Don't worry about shopping in CT - that's not why people live here. There are plenty of good restaurants, day-trip type activities and relative close proximity to Rhode Island beaches that make it an okay place to live. Of course, being between Boston and NYC is nice as well for an easy day trip into the city.

That being said, it's a slower pace of life and very suburban. Do a little exploring, though, and you'll find some decent hidden pockets of the state that can be enjoyable.

roommate lives in east hartford. he hates CT tho, especially hartford.

you can visit us here in boston relatively easy

if you like mcmansions and golf courses, CT is great!
