Where is the best music festival and why

I went to the Sonar music festival this year and was blown away by the city and the fesival. Being used to going to mud heavy UK fesivals I think the muisc,weather, vibe and city made this something special for me. So it means I am planning for next year and looking to find any hidden gems out there. Any tips as to your favourites and why

In that case, don't forget 5 Days Off in Amsterdam and 10 Days Off in Belgium. A bit more alternative than Amsterdam Dance Event. Motel Mozaique in R'dam is one of my favorites, but not really dance oriented, although LCD Soundsystem did a great gig last year.

there's the WMF, which i think is held in miami every year during the spring. big bashes from reknowned producers/labels like MAW.

COACHELLA....fucking radical lineup this past year

the only x factor is if its gonna be 115 degrees or not....we were lucky this past year and escaped with a comfortable 85....

I would have to say glastonbury. My problem with cochella is you have to drink in a pen, and way too many restrictions. Festivals in the states have never lived up to the ones in Europe. I was planning on going to icelandic airwaves but when they cancelled babyshambles, I cancelled. CMJ or SXSW has been the best I have experienced stateside.
