70505s were available fom sizes 30 to 50. As for the 526 stamp - i'll assume its a generic US jacket, as in 'the late 60's Levis hadn't began manufactuing oveseas (but someone please correct me if i'm wrong). My '69 70505 has the 526 stamp as well. Our jackets might even be the same year. Is yours a single or double stitch? any pictures? of tags as well?

mine has 526 buttons as well. does that mean it was made over seas? yeah i think its 69 model.Levi buttons are flat rather than domed,in the center. I found the chart indications on this site: [url=" http://www.vintagemotorcyclejackets.com/chart1.htm"] <a href="http://www.vintagemotorcyclejackets.com/chart1.htm" target="_blank">http://www.vintagemotorcyclejackets.com/chart1.htm</a> . Go all the way to the bottom. For the description of 69 type 3. this jacket feels real nice, denim is still pretty rigid. i hope its not a variant! i still like it anyways.

What i meant about the 526 was that it was a generic US-made button, since levis hadn't began manufacturing overseas. both of our jackets are american. also thanks fo the website - the info is legit. glad you like you jacket , i like mine very much as well. i just wish mine was a little bigger. type 1 and 2s are just so hard to come by, not to mention expensive
