Hey Guys,

I am going to be moving to Burnaby this summer for school. As I have never been to Burnaby and haven't been to Vancouver since I was real young I am wondering what areas to stay away from when looking for aparments. I don't care about nightlife, or whats the current hipster douchebag area is as I am going to be going to school and home and thats about it. Just want a quiet and most of all safe area to start the hunt. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I don't think you'll have trouble being quiet in Burnaby.

Is this suposed to be a funny, or insulting, or witty, or....what the fuck even is this? Like I said, I don't care if its quite. I know some areas are garbage in most cities just trying to get an idea.

I supose if i had asked where to get steroids and how to inject them directly into my brain you would be super helpfull.

Hostile much?

He was implying that there's piss all to do there, so you'll have no problem having a quiet life.

Oh sorry then, I thought he was being unhelpfull, by making a general unrelated statement about a HUGE city that he knew nothing about. But your probably right, if I was wrong then I appologize and this thread should be closed down.

Typically, the lower mainland is accessible by Bus. Burnaby isn't all that far from Vancouver, where things are at. Relatively speaking. Vancouver's a pretty laid back town, kinda similar to Portland, but denser.

So really, even if you're going to school in Burnaby, you might be better served to live elsewhere depending on what you're looking for: lower rent? more interesting places? accessibility to the rest of the lower mainland? Whatcha want?

1) stay away from metrotown

and

2) skytrain is your best friend, seriously. Try to live near one.

there is piss all to do in burnaby other than a couple of select bbt stores, an arcade and a shitty mall overrun by rampant vietnamese teenagers.
