Always kind of a yawn live. Neil (great since of time) over plays and Lees voice gets old after a while. Not great live in my opnion.

WHAT!!! I think they sound amazing live, I saw them this past September and it was one of the best shows i've seen. They played a 3 hour set with no opening band and all three of them were great.

I wouldn't say the the suck they're just not all that great of a live band. There first record (without peart) had some real energy on it and 2112 was pretty ground breaking but thats about it and live they've always been a little boring and not improv. enough. They don't push the music much live. And peart over plays. He has a great since of time just play way to much.

His speaking voice like Robert Plant when he was young is quite normal. By the way Plants voice was pretty cashed by the time the 3rd record was released.

There are times when bands are better live like The Stooges in late 60s early 70s, Janes Addiction late 80s, The Who 69, The Clash (ANY TIME),Tool 2001, you get the drift. I saw Rush probably at the top of their live game (2112 tour 77) and the were good, not great live.
