Rag and Bone

Saw some of their stuff today and was really impressed. Never really paid attention before. Really nice lined jacket and also a pair of trousers. Nice design, construction, and fit. I noticed the jeans are RHT, I didn't get a chance to look at them too closely, but looked interesting.

Thoughts?

I find R&B jeans expensive, however I like the simplicity of the styles I've seen. They look good on all ages, all body types, and looks. I've seen them on highly fashion conscious twenty year olds to grandad city types. All good. Nice for 'non-jeansy' people.

In the UK they are about £220. Which is a lot. I tried on a pair the other day, and they were nice but some things put me off. First they haver a rather more "tailored" shape than most authentic/levis based denim lines. I suspect this is to appeal to the non-denim "headz". Second the denim is quite nice japanese selvedge but v soft and quite lightweight, which again, struck me as a bit unauthentic. They were just a little bit too sanitised for my taste.

I love the jeans personally. The black denim I have to admit does feel a little lighter (below 12oz for sure), but blues I have seen seem fine enough for a one rinse. The wash obviously softens the denim up quite a bit. Tailored look I believe is their signature, in keeping with the rest of the pieces. When worn I find the fit quite flattering, but yes more styled than a traditional 501 copy. Nice craftsmaship and worth the bucks IMO. Wax cotton jackets I found decent but not better than just picking up a Belstaff. Other than that the wool stuff I also like, there is a blazer they do that seems particularly well put together.
