Where's the best comic books in NYC?

Dunno much about this but looking for cool comic book stores. Not really interested in Manga, more like 2000AD, Moebius, Heavy Metal and that kind of stuff. I'll be staying in Lower East so anywhere around there would be great.

not sure of exact address but, if you cant find it theres tons of other things to do!....right on like 40th street and 10th ave i believe theres a comic book store on the 2nd floor, you can see it from about a block away and its right at a corner!

Midtown comics is crowded, and it's hard to find what you're looking for.

(Although they'll probably have what you want.)

I prefer Jim Hanley's Universe on 33 between 5th & 6th.

The comics are all in alphabetical order and there's a magazine section.

They sell tees and toys and statues and the staff is cool.

Try Forbidden Planet, too.

Can I ask you something? These sunglasses: they're really nice. Are they like government issue, or do you guys all go to the same store together?

Hey, thanks everyone for posting. Yes, I've been away and back but I'm going there again in late october. Thanks for reminding me about Forbidden Planet, been there but actually forgot before posting. Will check out Midtown Comics, Jim Hanleys universe and the Giant Robot exhibition.
