short toggle/duffle coat

i've been trying to find one for a while now to no luck. being 5'6 doesn't help when trying to find a coat that doesn't look ridiculous on you. not only that, but they're all fairly expensive and only available online and i'd like to try one on before buying it and possibly having to send it back anyway.

i've been playing with the idea of making one with the help of my sewing inclined mother but am not too sure how feasible of an option this would be. any advice on this matter would be much appreciated as i'm tired of wearing the same m65 everyday and browsing the internet to no avail in search of a new winter coat.

i would suggest looking into some of spiewak's options. they're affordable and efficient.

hey youngluc, i'm in the same boat.

and i second the spiewak suggestion.

i'm 5'5 about 120 lbs, and spiewak jackets actually fit me well (maybe a teeny bit long). since you're one inch taller, and assuming youre not enormously wide, they should be perfect for you. wait for an urban outfitters or karmaloop (their spiewak jackets are the only stuff worth looking at) coupon and you can get a nice coat for about 100 dollars.
