sugarcanes and non-sanforized jeans

Just a question on Sugarcanes or shrink to fit jeans.

When you buy dry canes, do you buy them to fit now, or do you buy them to shrink to fit down to your size?

if you're buying as shrink to fit, are you just wearing them around for months as a baggy pair of jeans?

If you're buying them to fit now, how will they fit when you wash them?

most people soak them as soon as they get them to shrink them down to size, THEN wear them around forever. Some people (crazies) wear them raw in their size and just never, ever wash them. I guess you could also only let them dry on you (never hang dry), and then they couldnt shrink, but they'd be pretty damn tight.

but to reiterate geowu's question -- after u do that, is there a possibility they will stretch back out again?

I'm sure they will stretch out a bit, but I doubt they will stretch out back to their original size.

I would do what wild_whiskey said, buy 2 sizes up, then hop in the bathtub as soon as I got them.

No need to buy 2 sizes up IMO. The Canes will come big already and shrink down to the size marked on the tag. Just by your regular waist size and then shrink them.

Oh, good to know that Sugar Cane works that way. AFAIK you can't do that with, say, Eternal -- I'm pretty sure they run true-to-size before being washed, judging from the size charts I've seen online.

Sugar cane has multiple collections out. they do a whole washed and dry collection.

The price are crazy for some of the washed pieces.

according to toyo it is a safe beat that if you buy a non-sanforized jean the lenght will shrink approx 4 inches and the waist 3 inches.

i'm sorry to correct you here ringring, but i own 3 pairs of sugar cane drys and the size on the tag is the actual size on every pair. i buy them fitting... the whole bathtub thing is too big a lottery for me.

have you experienced something else regarding the size tag? i'm sure you own some pairs, too.

my oldest pair is more than 4 years old and i havent washed it so far.

just dry cleaning every 6 months. gives fantastic whiskering.

When I purchased my sugarcanes (1947 brand) I was told to buy them with my true waist size on the tag. The representative told me that when i receive them in the mail (I mailordered them) they will fit large and shrink down 2 inches in the waist and 3-4inches in the length to the size marked on the tag. I haven't recieved them in the mail yet, but when i do i plan on soaking them in cool water inside out for about an hour and then hang drying them inside out to achieve maximum shrinkage and minimum color loss. I will get back to y'all with my experience once i actually do this.

PEACE
