Bargaining in Taipei (specifically Ximending & Dunhua area)

Hey guys im in taipei for 2 nights for a business trip are u allowed to bargain in stores in Ximending or Zhongxiao Dunhua area???

i know in China you can slash prices drastically (like if they open a price of 1,000 u can probably get the item for 250)

how about in taipei?

Usually if everything in the store has a price tag, then it probably won't really allow bargaining. Some Ximending shops would more likely to allow bargaining than Zhongxiao Dunhua. If you're buying multiple items that you might be able to get some discount. Never hurts to ask for discounts.

Taiwan is pretty different from China tho. In general the prices won't be inflated by that much.

If you're bargaining sometimes if you slash prices way too low it can be pretty offensive to the seller. Use ur best judgement

For small mom and pop shops bargaining won't be a problem. Malls, department stores you might ask for a discount like 10% or something, your luck will vary.

Some things you can't bargain for are food and things at 7/11. I learned this the hard way.
