Anybody like this label here on superfuture? I've recently bought a lot of w)taps stuff and I'm wondering if anybody knows more about this brand.

hm. go to yahoo japan auction. type "wtaps". they have a special section for wtaps stuff. go browse around. they're not exhaustive but at least you get some sense of how the stuff looks like in general

I bought w)taps gear at my local store, Recon SF. They have a big sale that's going on today (and yesterday). If anybody likes w)taps and lives in the bay area, I suggest you head on over to Recon rightaway because everything in the store is 20-50% off. I got this kickass shortsleeve jacket thing for only $70 and another w)taps tee for like $40.

If anybody is really interested, they have this XL jacket on sale for $100! That's at least $200 off the retail price. Most of the other w)taps gear is only 20% off so I didn't buy too much stuff. Futura Laboratories is also on sale at 20-30% off and most Recon tees are only $12.

edit: misterdobalina, you should call Recon NYC to see if they have a similar sale going on too. I heard there was sale in your Recon (like 20% off or something).

for some reason, those japanese brands tend to use w as double... i think nitrow produced a pair of jeans called w knee jeans, and you're supposed to read it double knee jeans... not sure how did that come about

there is not equivalent word in japanese that sounds like W so they just say double.

early w)taps was called doubletaps...from the same camp as Neighborhood (don't know if that was mentioned). Three years ago they made some really nice selvedge denim, both rigid and CRAZY destroyed.

i think i've seen those jeans before. but never knew they are selvage. the destroyed is really CRAZY destroyed though, rips all over the front haha

yeah, even the crazy destroyed jeans were selvedge, I have a pair, and people @ Levi's trip out on them whenecver I wear them. Really expensive finishing.
