Boots On Bikes?

I ask the following question being all too aware of how stupid it sounds, and probably is...

are there any boots, or styles of boots, that aren't horrible to use while riding a bike w/toe clips and straps? It's getting rainy where I live, and thusly I have been wearing almost exclusively my Alden 405s, which has made it impossible for me to do short little around town commutes without taking two pairs of shoes. I was toying around with the idea of getting an Alden (or similar) Chukka and using it to ride with...is it worth a shot, or is it the worst idea ever?

UNPOSSIBLE. It was really hard for me to ride my bike in Docs..

I ride in alden AF72 ERRYDAY! seriously, with cages and everything.

Is that overly hard on the shoe? Is it uncomfortable?

I got Justin work boots that go in my cages every now and then... not as good as sneakers, but they haven't given me any terrible accidents yet.
