What to wear for a recruitment day??????

OK, so im going to a recruitment day at Ted Baker, Im torn between two options of dress. I want to be a shop assistant.

1 - suit, cant ever be too formal (?) but its a charcoal colour so may look abit odd without a tie, also my only black shoes are bad, clunky naff things.... the suit itself isnt great, its all polyester and isnt a flattering cut, basically by wearing a suit I wont be looking my best.

2- jeans, nice brown shoes, nice shirt, cardie or jumper.... mostly my best clothes and certainly my best look.

Its not an interview, just a recruitment day to decide who to interview, I know I should be formal, but I also know they probably want a stylish, young man to be a shop assistant....

Mmmmm, im still unsure.

My girlfriend thinks I should wear a suit, so im kinda leaning that way, its wearing jeans that bugs me, but I dont have any other option.

What I REALLY ought to do is buy some nice brown wool trousers.... or a nicer, more causual suit.

Its such a shame I only have a black suit, cant wear a patterned shirt or any brown shoes with it..

you should have bought the uniglo wool trousers for this. they have them in 2 styles and 2 colors in each style. flat front or regular front and in colors charcoal or brown. i think they were like 50 or 60ish. call the store closest to you for a phone order.

saw em the other day actually.

had a wardrobe rummage, half tempted to use my only other jacket (brown velvet) and just wear that n jeans n shoes n shirt/black tee

Option two. If the suit doesn't look good, and you know this, then you won't be as confident as you can be.

have you been to the store and seen how the SAs dress? that'd probably be a good gauge of how in/formal they are. but yeah a crap suit with crap shoes is probably not the best way to make a first impression for a fashion-related job

Well I wore the suit.

I got a call today to say I wouldnt be needed to turn up for an interview.

Its hard being a graduate.
